KHRIZVER - Mebendazole Tablet 500mg

Indications / Uses: 
Mebendazole 500mg is indicated for the treatment of intestinal worm infections (helminthic infections) caused by susceptible parasites. It is commonly used for infections such as pinworm, roundworm, whipworm, and hookworm infestations. Mebendazole works as an anthelmintic medication by interfering with the parasite’s ability to absorb essential nutrients, particularly glucose, which results in depletion of energy stores and eventual elimination of the worms from the body.

Dosage/Directions for use:

Adults and Children 1 year and older: The recommended dose is 1 chewable tablet (500mg) as a single dose. A repeat dose may be given after 2 to 3 weeks if necessary, as advised by a healthcare professional.

The maximum recommended daily dose is 500mg. Do not exceed the prescribed dosage. Use is not recommended for infants below 1 year of age. For certain infections, such as whipworm infestation, treatment may require a longer duration of up to 3 consecutive days as directed by a healthcare provider.

Administration: Mebendazole 500mg is administered orally. The chewable tablet should be taken as directed and may be chewed thoroughly before swallowing. It may be taken with or without food. Proper hygiene practices, such as regular handwashing and cleaning of personal items, are recommended to help prevent reinfection.

Contraindications: This product should not be used in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to mebendazole, benzimidazole compounds, or any component of the formulation. Use should be avoided in patients with significant liver impairment or inflammatory bowel disease unless specifically advised by a healthcare professional. It is also contraindicated in individuals who have previously experienced allergic reactions to similar antiparasitic medications.
