ALLERCHEM - Cetirizine Syrup 5mg/5ml 60ml

Indications / Uses: 

ALLERCHEM Cetirizine Syrup is indicated for the management and relief of symptoms associated with allergic conditions in children and adults. It is commonly used to treat allergic rhinitis symptoms, including sneezing, runny or itchy nose, and watery eyes, as well as allergic skin reactions such as hives (urticaria) and itching caused by seasonal allergies, hay fever, and chronic urticaria. As a second-generation antihistamine, cetirizine works by blocking histamine activity to help reduce allergic symptoms.

Dosage/Directions for use:

Children 2–6 years: The recommended dose is 2.5 mL (2.5 mg) once daily. The dose should not exceed 2.5 mg within 24 hours.

Children 6–12 years: The recommended dose is 5 mL (5 mg) once daily. The dose should not exceed 5 mg within 24 hours.

Adults and adolescents 12 years and older: The recommended dose is 5–10 mL (5–10 mg) once daily, with a maximum daily dose of 10 mg.

Cetirizine syrup is not recommended for children below 2 years of age. The maximum treatment duration is 14 days unless otherwise directed by a healthcare professional.

Administration: Cetirizine is administered orally and may be taken with or without food. It should be taken according to the prescribed dosing schedule and swallowed with sufficient water. For liquid preparations, use an accurate measuring device to ensure the correct dose is administered. 

Contraindications: ALLERCHEM Cetirizine Syrup should not be used in individuals with a known hypersensitivity or allergy to cetirizine, hydroxyzine, other antihistamines, or any component of the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe kidney impairment due to possible reduced clearance of the medication.
