ZIMVAST - Simvastatin Tablet 40mg

Indications / Uses: 
ZIMVAST Simvastatin 40mg is indicated for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia, mixed dyslipidemia, and familial hypercholesterolemia as an adjunct to diet and exercise. It is also indicated for reducing the risk of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in high-risk patients.

Dosage/Directions for use:
Adults: The usual dose ranges from 10mg to 40mg once daily in the evening, depending on the patient's lipid profile and cardiovascular risk. A 40mg once-daily dose may be used in patients requiring substantial LDL cholesterol reduction.

The maximum recommended daily dose is 40mg for most patients. Lipid levels should be monitored periodically, and dosage adjustments made after at least 4 weeks when necessary.

Administration: Simvastatin 40mg is administered orally. It should be taken once daily in the evening, with or without food.

Contraindications: This product is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to simvastatin or any component of the formulation, active liver disease, persistent unexplained elevation of liver enzymes, and during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Concurrent use with potent CYP3A4 inhibitors is contraindicated.
