CETIRIGEN - Cetirizine Syr 5mg/5ml 60ml

Indications / Uses: 

It is indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with allergic conditions in children. It is commonly used to manage allergic rhinitis, including symptoms such as sneezing, nasal congestion, and itchy eyes, as well as allergic skin reactions like hives (urticaria) and itching. It also helps control symptoms associated with chronic urticaria and seasonal allergies by reducing histamine-related allergic responses.

Dosage/Directions for use:

Children 2–6 years: The recommended dose is 2.5 mL (2.5 mg) once daily.

Children 6–12 years: The recommended dose is 5 mL (5 mg) once daily.

Adults and adolescents 12 years and older: The recommended dose is 10 mL (10 mg) once daily.

The maximum recommended daily dose is 10 mg. Cetirizine syrup is not recommended for children below 2 years of age. Use beyond 4 weeks should only be continued under the guidance of a healthcare professional.

Administration: Cetirizine is administered orally and may be taken with or without food. It should be taken according to the prescribed dosing schedule and swallowed with sufficient water. For liquid preparations, use an accurate measuring device to ensure the correct dose is administered. 

Contraindications: It should not be used in individuals with a known hypersensitivity or allergy to cetirizine, hydroxyzine, piperazine derivatives, or any component of the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment due to the risk of reduced drug
