IRBEQ - Irbesartan Tablet 150mg
Indications / Uses:
is indicated for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications such as stroke and heart attack. It is also used to protect kidney function in patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension by reducing the effects of angiotensin II, a substance that causes blood vessel narrowing and increased blood pressure. Additionally, irbesartan may be used in the management of heart failure in selected patients by improving circulation and decreasing the workload of the heart.
Dosage/Directions for use:
Adults (18 years and older): The recommended starting dose of IRBEQ Irbesartan 150mg is 150 mg once daily. The dose may be increased to 300 mg once daily if additional blood pressure control is required and as determined by a healthcare professional.
The maximum recommended daily dose is 300 mg. Irbesartan is not recommended for children below 18 years of age due to limited safety and efficacy data. The medication may be taken with or without food and should be taken consistently at the same time each day to maintain effective blood pressure control.
Administration: Irbesartan is administered orally. The tablet should be swallowed whole with water and taken regularly as prescribed. It may be taken with or without meals; however, patients should maintain a consistent routine regarding food intake and timing of administration.
Contraindications: Irbesartan should not be used in individuals with a known hypersensitivity or allergy to irbesartan or other angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs). It is contraindicated during pregnancy, particularly due to potential harm to the developing fetus. Use should also be avoided in patients with severe kidney impairment or bilateral renal artery stenosis, as these conditions may increase the risk of complications.
