Indications / Uses:
It is indicated for the management of hypertension (high blood pressure) in patients who require combination therapy to achieve adequate blood pressure control.
Dosage/Directions for use:
Adults (18 years and older): Take 1 tablet once daily of Losartan 50 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. If blood pressure is not adequately controlled, the dose may be increased to Losartan 100 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg once daily.
Maximum dose: 1 tablet daily of the higher-strength formulation.
Children and adolescents below 18 years: Not recommended due to limited safety and effectiveness information.
Administration: It is administered orally. The tablet should be swallowed whole with water and may be taken with or without food. It should be taken consistently at the same time each day as prescribed. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels may be recommended during treatment.
Contraindications: This product should not be used in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to losartan, hydrochlorothiazide, sulfonamide-derived medications, or any component of the formulation.
It is contraindicated in patients with:
- Anuria (inability to produce urine)
- Severe liver or kidney impairment
- Persistent low potassium or high calcium levels that cannot be corrected
- Symptomatic hyperuricemia or a history of gout
Use should be avoided in patients with conditions that may worsen with hydrochlorothiazide therapy unless specifically evaluated and recommended by a healthcare professional.
