Indications / Uses: 

It is indicated for the relief of mild to moderate pain and reduction of fever in children. It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that helps relieve discomfort associated with various common conditions. This medication is commonly used to manage fever, headaches, toothaches, teething discomfort, and minor muscle or body aches related to colds and flu. Its oral liquid suspension formulation is designed to provide convenient and accurate dosing for younger patients. It works by reducing the production of substances in the body that cause pain, inflammation, and fever, helping improve comfort and relieve symptoms.

Dosage/Directions for use:

The dosage of PENFRO Ibuprofen for Kids should be determined according to the patient’s body weight, with the usual recommended dose ranging from 5 to 10 mg/kg per dose.

• • • Infants 6–11 months (5.5–8 kg): 1.25 mL (50 mg) per dose 

    • Children 1–3 years (8–15 kg): 2.5 mL (100 mg) per dose 

    • Children 4–6 years (15–20 kg): 3.75 mL (150 mg) per dose 

    • Children 7–9 years (20–30 kg): 5 mL (200 mg) per dose 

    • Children 10–12 years (30–40 kg): 7.5 mL (300 mg) per dose 

    • Adolescents and Adults weighing 40 kg or more: 10 mL (400 mg) per dose 

The dose may be repeated every 6 to 8 hours as needed. Do not exceed 4 doses within 24 hours. This product is not recommended for infants below 6 months of age. Treatment duration should generally not exceed 3 days for fever or 5 days for pain unless advised by a healthcare professional.

Administration: It is administered orally as a liquid suspension. Shake the bottle well before use to ensure even distribution of the medication. Measure the correct dose using an appropriate measuring device and take as directed. It may be taken with food or milk to help reduce possible stomach discomfort. Do not exceed the recommended dose or duration of treatment without medical advice.

Contraindications: It should not be used in individuals with a known hypersensitivity or severe allergic reaction to ibuprofen, other NSAIDs, aspirin, or any component of the formulation. It is contraindicated in patients with a history of active or recurrent peptic ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, severe heart failure, severe kidney impairment, or severe liver dysfunction. Avoid use in individuals with bleeding disorders or increased risk of bleeding and during the third trimester of pregnancy due to potential risks.
