MOTICON - Cinnarizine Tablet 25mg
Indications / Uses:
MOTICON Cinnarizine 25mg is indicated for the management of vestibular disorders and related symptoms, including vertigo, dizziness, and tinnitus. It is also used for the prevention and treatment of motion sickness associated with travel by sea, air, or land transportation. Additionally, cinnarizine may be prescribed as supportive therapy for peripheral circulatory disorders and certain cerebrovascular-related symptoms, such as vascular headaches and irritability. The medication works by helping improve blood flow and reducing excessive stimulation of the vestibular system.
Dosage/Directions for use:
Adults (18 years and older): The recommended dose is 1 tablet every 8 hours. For the prevention of motion sickness, take 1 tablet approximately 2 hours before travel. The total dose should not exceed 9 tablets within 24 hours.
Adolescents (13–17 years): The recommended dose is 1 tablet every 8 hours, with a maximum of 3 tablets within 24 hours.
Children (5–12 years): The recommended dose is ½ tablet every 8 hours, with a maximum of 1.5 tablets within 24 hours.
Cinnarizine is not recommended for children below 5 years of age. Treatment should generally not exceed 7 days unless directed and monitored by a healthcare professional. It is preferably taken after meals to help reduce stomach irritation.
Administration: Cinnarizine is administered orally and should be taken with food to help reduce stomach discomfort and improve tolerability. The medication should be taken according to the prescribed dosing schedule and swallowed with sufficient water.
Contraindications: MOTICON Cinnarizine 25mg should not be used in individuals with a known hypersensitivity or allergy to cinnarizine or any component of the formulation. It should be avoided in patients with Parkinson’s disease, porphyria, or severe depression, as it may worsen these conditions.
