Indications / Uses:

It is indicated for the management of respiratory conditions associated with thick and excessive mucus production, including bronchitis, sinusitis, and pneumonia. It acts as a mucolytic agent that helps loosen and thin mucus, making it easier to expel. The drops help relieve productive cough, promote airway clearance in infants and young children, and support mucus expectoration during respiratory infections and chronic pulmonary conditions.

Dosage/Directions for use:

Infants 1–12 months: The recommended dose is 0.25 mL (12.5 mg) taken 4 times daily. Do not exceed 1 mL (50 mg) within 24 hours.
Children 1–2 years: The recommended dose is 0.5 mL (25 mg) taken 4 times daily. Do not exceed 2 mL (100 mg) within 24 hours.
Children 2–6 years: The recommended dose is 0.5 mL (25 mg) taken 4 times daily. Do not exceed 2 mL (100 mg) within 24 hours.
Children 6–12 years: The recommended dose is 1 mL (50 mg) taken 3 times daily. Do not exceed 3 mL (150 mg) within 24 hours.
Infants below 1 month: Not recommended for use.

The maximum recommended treatment duration is generally 7 days, unless otherwise directed by a healthcare professional. Always use the calibrated dropper provided to ensure accurate measurement of each dose. Shake the bottle well before use.

Administration: The syrup should be taken by mouth using an accurate measuring device. Shake the bottle well before each use and take the prescribed dose at the recommended intervals. It may be taken with or without food, unless otherwise directed by a healthcare professional. 

Contraindications: It should not be used in individuals with a known hypersensitivity or allergy to carbocisteine, mucolytic agents, or related compounds. It is contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer disease or gastrointestinal bleeding. Use is also not recommended in individuals with severe renal impairment requiring dialysis.
